This is not going to be a big personal spiel about how I haven't gotten a good night's sleep in about a week, because if I wrote one of those every time it happens, I would probably have about 12 or so of those posts each year.
Instead, this is a little filler about what I've been up to:
-I'm currently an intern at the school's literary magazine for students (the Cypress Dome) and the international literary journal (the Florida Review). I can easily say that, out of the 60 fiction pieces I have read (combined total this semester), I read the first story that I liked yesterday from the Florida Review. The stories being published for the Cypress Dome are also cool, but I had no hand in selecting them. If you plan on ever submitting to a literary magazine and need guidelines in terms of what to do or what not to do, leave a comment or email me; people from all over the country (a lot of them college professors or MFA graduates) make the most horrible mistakes in writing, sometimes to the point where I want to fly to their specified address and strangle them.
-I'm moving to New York City (Brooklyn, specifically) in August. Around June, I'm going to pack up and stay with family outside of the city for a bit and go on interviews here and there. No grad school for me, for the time being. Instead, I'll be looking for editing jobs and such (yes, in this horrible market).
-I got a new laptop. I'm the only one psyched about it. No longer am I tethered to my apartment because of a laptop that has no working battery or keyboard. Nobody cares about this.
-I use Twitter frequently.
-The reason I don't post a lot of written work anymore is because I don't write much anymore. I should, I know, and I will. I just need to settle down on things (sleep, work load, reading, leisure, etc.) before I start writing again. The reason that I had such a high output of writing previously is because I had been taking workshop classes, which I am not doing any longer (due to the fact that I'm about to graduate). I do, however, have a script that I should be finished with by May, which I'll post on here.
That's about it. More another time.
